R. James Thornton
R. James Thornton is a Portfolio Manager at Tocqueville Asset Management L.P. Mr. Thornton joined Tocqueville in 2000 and manages accounts of individual clients. Prior to joining Tocqueville, Mr. Thornton spent forty years in institutional research and sales with major New York City firms, including Wertheim Schroder and E. F. Hutton. He worked in New York as a credit analyst with Chemical Bank. Mr. Thornton is also involved in real estate development in his native North Carolina. Mr. Thornton earned a B.S. in History from Davidson College, a J.D. from University of Virginia Law School, and an M.B.A. from New York University.
